Your First Visit

At our office our examination procedures are geared toward detection and correction of the "Vertebral Subluxation."  The procedures we use are therefore specifically selected for your spine and nervous system health.  There are a couple of things that you should expect when you have a first visit at our clinic.

Our Examination consists of a thorough spinal and nervous system exam which includes "Palpation".  Palpation essentially is checking your spine by hand.  With this exam the doctor can feel areas of your spine that may be involved with subluxations problems.  Spinal position, curvatures and muscle tone can also be examined as it relates to possible spinal subluxations.

Your examination will also include a computerized examination called the "Insight Millennium Subluxation Examination." This examination involves several important components.

In the second part of this examination the Insight Millennium Subluxation Examination scans the surface of your spinal area for surface electrical impulses, and measures them along your spine.  This helps measure the affect of subluxation on the motor nerve system and the affect subluxations may be having on your muscles.

The importance of each of these tests will be explained to you at your Report of Findings.  However, it is important to note that this examination helps scientifically understand the subluxation processes going on in your spine.  It also gives us a baseline for future tests so we can accurately measure your progress to see how your spine is correcting and your nervous system is functioning. Using the Insight Millennium Subluxation Examination is much more accurate that just depending on "how you feel" on any given day.

Nervous about your first visit . . . here is what our patient had to say!

All I can say is "WOW"! Dr. Roche is simply wonderful...incredible bedside manner, very personable and low key.

I was nervous going in to see him for my first visit today because I've only ever been to one chiropractor for one adjustment and I did not have any injuries to contend with at that time. That was at least 10 years ago. Now, I have 3 injuries in my body and I am in physical therapy 2 x's per week for those. But, one of the injuries I sustained is especially aggravating. It's in my right side SI Joint (next to my tail bone) in my lower back. It is uncomfortable when I walk, sit, etc. This injury even causes discomfort in my right hip and from there shoots down to my knee at times. So, I was looking for some extra help with all of this outside of physical therapy. I researched several chiropractors and one of those was Dr. Roche. When he called to speak with me I appreciated his honesty with regard to what he felt he could help with pertaining to my various injuries and what would be best left to physical therapy. Fortunately, he definitely felt he could help with my SI Joint issues. And, that he did! After just the first visit I am feeling relief. Everything he did on my body during my visit was completely gentle and painless including the adjustment to my SI Joint. I am looking forward to returning to see him next week for another adjustment and I would highly recommend him to others looking for a wonderful chiropractor.

The first part of this examination process  involves reading spinal heat differences from one level of the spine to another, as well as from one side of the spine to the other.  Heat is a by product of circulation, which is controlled by the autonomic nervous system.  From this we can see how subluxation may be affecting these functions of your nervous system.

Spinal X-rays may be prescribed depending on your age, and situation.  There are many reasons why we would not take x-rays on certain patients including pregnancy, most children, recent usable spinal x-rays and some other various situations.

Our Chiropractic Care at our office utilizes the most modern chiropractic analytical, and adjustive procedures and equipment available. We consider subluxations to be a serious threat to the quality and quantity of your health and that of your family. It is therefore imperative that we utilize the most modern, and the well established time-proven procedures to help you. We feel you're worth it!
